Welcome to my blog!

My hobby is still paper-crafting. But for now, the majority of my blog will be to chronicle my war with my fat body until it is no longer fat & unhealthy.

NEW Hostess Code - you can now have a "virtual" party!

With the new catalog due to be released in approximately a month, now is an excellent time to think about hostessing a workshop; or...maybe having a book/online party?

An online party you say? How on earth is that possible to do?  Well, that is where having a HOSTESS CODE enters in.

I know that many of us know people in our various circles of friends that stamp or do scrapbooking; people that I don't know, but you do!  Having a HOSTESS code enables them to shop online for up to 30 days & allows their purchases to go directly toward your "party". It also allows people that don't even live near you to shop, their order will be delivered right to their door, even if they don't live in Michigan & you don't spend a lot of time & gas delivering orders. Whoo-hoo!  (Hey, YOU the hostess don't even have to live near me to have a "virtual party.")

If you'd like to either kick off your 30 days with a workshop or end it up with a workshop I'm willing to do that for you as that is an excellent way to boost your sales. Your sales total is what generates your earning FREE product & once you pass the $400 party threshold it also qualifies you for 1/2 price products. Who wouldn't like to get 1/2 off of a Big Shot machine or the new Stampin Trimmer?

If you have a workshop you also have the benefit of customers seeing catalogs & holding product in their hands as well as making a card or small project to take home with them. Anyone & everyone can create, even if they don't think they can; and that is the BEAUTY of rubber stamping!  The artsy part is already done & designed for you!  There will be a free hostess gift for you to keep too. (Sorry, I can't tell you what it will be, it's a surprise!)

One question you may have would be; if I have a hostess code can I still collect traditional orders if I don't want to have a workshop? Yes, you most certainly can! When you contact me to set up a date, we'll go through all of the details.

Want a little? Place an order!
Want a lot? Host a workshop!!
Want it all? Become a Stampin Up hobby member or creative consultant!!! (only $99 to sign up)

Get with me soon to schedule your date & set up your hostess code!

Mini Scrapbook Album - Alternate theme

I made this as a gift for a friend's 60th birthday. He's into cars & racing, so I thought the red/black/silver/white theme would suit well for maybe some older pictures he may have that he might like to put in the album. When I gave it to him I included a little note which explained about the pullout tabs in the spine which can be used for more pictures or for journaling. Hope you enjoy the pictures, I apologize for the poor photo quality. I was running out of time & wanted to get it photographed before we left for our friend's party.
View of the scrapbook lying open. The back in on the left, the front is on the right.
Front View. Note the tabs sticking out on the left. The tabs are attached to cardstock pieces which can be used for more photos or for journaling.

Inside the first pages.

These are the last of the pages. You'll notice there are places for 8 photos.
Such a cute project & the base for it is 5 envelopes. You could do the same type of idea using any size of envelope. I happened to use what I think are #5 envelopes, approximately 4 1/2" x 6 1/4". This is the same as this month's Paper Project Primetime Mini Scrapbook album, just in a different color scheme.

Reverse masking technique

This is a birthday card I did recently. I used a shimmer paper with Old Olive brayered on, then stamped the leaves in Basic Black. This particular stamp set is retired; however, one that is current & quite similar is French Foliage (#121166, $14.95 CM or #120845, $19.95 WM). The splat that is in French Foliage would have looked really nice on this card. Click here to order the French Foliage stamp set.

April's Get-together & Stamp-A-Stack is next weekend

Date change; Saturday, April 27th at 4pm. Next Saturday, April 20th, will be our monthly get-together. I have several events happening at my home that day, so please read the schedule on the Events post carefully.

The 3 main cards that everyone will do at no cost (donations are appreciated though) are:
April's Technique card - Watercolor

April's Fancy Fold/Project Card - Stair Step fancy fold card

April's K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stamper) Card
You have the option to do more cards if you would like, should you choose to do so, you can do up to 10 cards total (Stamp-A-Stack) for $15.00. If you place an order of $25.00 or more, the $15.00 you pay to stamp 10 cards will come off of your order total. (Remember that with a $25.00 or more order I'm offering the next annual catalog for FREE. You will also earn Patty Perks with any order!)
Here are the rest of the cards you may choose from:

Please be sure to let me know NO LATER THAN this Thursday if you plan to come Saturday. There will be a make-up night next Monday; but I cannot guarantee that you'll have enough time to make all of the cards.

April's Simply Scrappin' Workshop

This workshop has been cancelled. If you are interested in a private workshop email me.

Please refer to April's Events post for time & cost. Here are the pages we'll be creating this month:

Spring Layout - bring 6 pictures to put on your pages.

A closer look at Spring page 1

A closer look at Spring page 2
Whale of a Time layout - bring 9 pictures to put on your pages.

Up close look at Whale of a Time page 1. Page 2 is almost the same & can be seen above.
You don't have to bring  pictures with you to make the layouts, but sometimes having them with you is helpful as you may want to adjust the sizes for the photo mats. If you plan on coming, please be sure to let me know BY THURSDAY of this week!
