Welcome to my blog!

My hobby is still paper-crafting. But for now, the majority of my blog will be to chronicle my war with my fat body until it is no longer fat & unhealthy.

Something NEW from SU - Create a Kit!

Submit a Project

(Yay, even customers can submit ideas & projects!)

October 19, 2012
We want your kit ideas for upcoming kits. No, this is not a typo. We are starting up a new kit program especially for you. YOU will be the inspiration for the kits and YOU will vote to decide which project will be sold.
Submit a Project is not limited to demonstrators, so spread the word to your downlines, clubs, classes and neighbors  to submit and vote on upcoming kits. This is a great way to get the entire stamping community together. Start creating! Send us your kit ideas and get ready to vote for your favorites .
The Not-So-Fine Print
  • This program is available to both customers and demonstrators.
  • While your projects should not include retired products, they may include products not created by Stampin' Up!, such as jars or frames.
  • Projects must fit into one of the following categories:
    • Holiday
    • Photo a Day
    • Thank you
    • Birthday
    • Party favor
  • Projects can be cards, scrapbook pages, home décor, holiday décor, birthday decorations, etc. If you can make it with Stampin' Up! product, you can submit it!
  • Submit your projects by e-mail. Send an image (less than 2 MB), supply list, and instructions for creating the project to kitideas@stampinup.com. In the subject line, include the name of your project.
  • Please keep in mind that all submissions become the property of Stampin' Up! once received. We reserve the right to change project elements, the name, or any feature to make the kit easy to reproduce.
  • What's in it for you? Glad you asked! Those who submit the winning kit will:
    • See it - your photo, name and project will be posted online.
    • Flaunt it - you'll receive "blog badge" for your personal blog or website.
    • Spend it - you wouldn't be a winner without a $100 Stampin' Up! shopping spree.
  • That's not all! Those whose submissions are in the top 20 will also receive product used in the winning kit or a $25 shopping spree of their own.
Watch for more information with details about how to vote!
Here's is the first-ever winning kit submission:

Fancy Friends Kit

October 29, 2012
Remember the "Pick a Kit" survey from our October 1 Facebook post? The results are in and your "likes" have been heard. Introducing the first viewer's choice kit (drum roll, please) . . . Fancy Friends!
Get everything you need to make six cards for only $15.95 (item 132319)! If six isn't enough, add Note Cards to your order (item 107311)-we've already included extra rhinestones in the Fancy Friends kit.
To assemble the cards:
  1. Stamp the doily image in Daffodil Delight or Old Olive ink three times on the card and once on the envelope, re-inking between uses.
  2. Stamp "Friends" in Daffodil Delight or Old Olive ink on the front of the card.
  3. Adhere the flowers to the card. Adhere Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the center of the flowers.

October's Get Together Cards

October workshop card 1. Sunflower background stamp. Woodgrain EF using the new Core-dinations CS in Early Espresso. Background is Cajun Craze on Very Vanilla. The card itself was Crumb Cake, hence the Crumb Cake ribbon. Technique used was a combination of coloring with markers on the stamp & then lightly spritzing it with water to get a semi-watercolored effect. Then just a few rhinestones in the lower left corner to add some sparkle.

October workshop card 2. Crumb cake was again used for the card background, along with just a strip this time of the Early Espresso done in the Woodgrain EF. Patterned paper is from the Festival of Prints paper stack. The main punch used was the Owl Builder.

October Door Prize Winner!

Congratulations to Sharon M. you are this month's winner. You will be receiving a spool of stitched ribbon from me as your prize. Whoo-hoo!
