Welcome to my blog!

My hobby is still paper-crafting. But for now, the majority of my blog will be to chronicle my war with my fat body until it is no longer fat & unhealthy.

Using Scallop Border punch as trim behind circles

Cut 1/2" wide piece to length. Then using the Scallop Trim border punch, punch your border.
Using scissors make a straight cut down the center of the indented portion between each scallop. Do NOT cut all the way through, leave about 1/16" to that everything remains attached. (If  you sew, remember making cuts on curves to allow the fabric to bend or turn? This is the same concept only on paper.)

Add adhesive down near the bottom of each small section.

Place your trim behind your circle & pull the trim apart a little as you go around the circle.

See 2 posts down for details on this card. It also happened to fit Klompenstamper's Ribbon Slide challenge, details are in that posting.

See previous posting for Klompenstampers Ribbon Slide posting for details. Card happened to fit both challenges.

Klompenstampers Ribbon Slide Challenge

One more for the Klomenstampers Challenge. A different way to use ribbon. Make your own x-wide ribbon!
Homemade ribbon slide, double slot punch and 3/4" circle punches used which I then embossed with 2 layers of silver embossing powder. The image is raised using Dimensionals. DSP from Brights for the card & circle background. The border behind the circle is the Scallop Trim border punch. Sentiment and shape it is on are retired as is the Bashful Blue grosgrain ribbon.

Perfectly Preserved images and small salutation. Happy Birthday salutation is retired as is striped ribbon and hemp twine. Everything else is current product. Designer label punch, Top note cut twice so that it's square rather than rectangular. I used 3 different EFs on this card, rust layer is Houndstooth, green layer is Lattice, and background is Woodgrain. The embellishment slide is also retired, sorry needed to use what I have on hand.

PPA143 Challenge

The card is for a layout challenge on Pals Paper Arts. The stamp is SU, Two by Two, one of this year's new stamps. Colors used were Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White. Various colors used on the image. Punch used for the flowers was Boho Blossoms, Small heart & Small round scallop punches also used, along with an even smaller round scallop punch of which brand I do not remember. I used 3 different embossing folders, Petals-a-Plenty on the top layer, bottom layer was Vintage Wallpaper, scalloped edge is strip embosser from Delicate Designs. Scalloped edge was cut using the Large Scallop Edgelit Die. For embellishments, the ribbon is 1/8" pink gingham, brads are clear ice circles from a few years ago. Both are since retired. I used the small heart punch to notch the corners. Enjoy :o)

Wedding Card

I was going to attempt an all white card but decided it would be too bland. So this is what I settled with.

Happy Dots

I saw some notebook paper using this color combination & I just had to try it out. Love the way it looks. I must say though that the scanned image doesn't do it justice. It made the colors a little more "yellow" & the Wisteria Wonder looks gray. :o(

Want an easy card? This one is super simple.
SU Stamp: Whimsical Words in basic black
SU CS: Wisteria Wonder (card), Whisper White (background), Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Wisteria Wonder, Bashful Blue
SU EF: Houndstooth
SU Circle Punches: 2 1/2"-1 (for sentiment)
                              1" - 3
                              3/4" - 3
                              1/2" - 2
                              1/4" - 3
Other: Punch pack/Piercing Tool, Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine, Dimensionals (behind largest circle)

Thanks for looking.

TC1 Klompenstampers, Mojo Monday 258

This card was crafted for 2 challenges; Klompenstampers Techniques 1, Mojo Monday 258.
The technique challenge was to emboss on DSP (Designer Series Paper). I chose to dry emboss the paper using the new Woodgrain EF, then took a River Rock stamp pad over it to highlight the embossed area. A couple of tips: If you want to do this, stamp any designs or images on the paper before embossing & when you put it through your embossing machine use the least amount of layers possible to still get the texture. Otherwise the embossing goes so deep it will rip your DSP paper, normal cardstock should be fine.
The color combination was taken from an old color challenge on Splitcoast Stampers website.

SU Stamps: Open Sea & Perfectly Preserved (sentiment)
SU Ink: StazOn Black, River Rock
SU CS: River Rock, DSP Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry
SU EFs: Woodgrain, Lattice
SU Punches:  2 3/8" Scallop, XL Tag, Ticket Corner
Other: Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Thanks for looking, I'd welcome some feedback.

Designer Series Paper Share?

Is anyone interested in participating in a DSP share?

We can do a 2-way or 4-way share:
2-way share gives you 2 - 6"x12" pieces of each piece of paper in a DSP set for $5.50 plus shipping & tax. 4-way share gives you 2 - 6"x6" pieces of each piece of paper per set for $2.75 plus shipping & tax. (Prices are based on DSP sets that sell for $10.95 each.)
We would order a different set each month until we've ordered all of the sets. If there's interest in doing so we can add an extra set per month once in a while to get some of the specialty sets ordered as well.
